About STALL

This is not an engine fueled by gasoline and measured by horsepower. It is a raging machine fueled by perversion and measured by lives in bondage. It is the engine of human trafficking. This engine drives a billion dollar industry in which millions of lives have been destroyed by the darkness and torture of being bought and sold, existing as disposable objects.

STALL is an outgrowth of Philip Cameron Ministries, a non-profit organization that works in the Republic of Moldova. Work began almost 20 years ago in orphanages in Romania, and spread to its neighboring country of Moldova. PCM has helped to rebuild orphanages, provide heat, sanitation, clean water, food, and hope to children who live in the cold institutions of Romania and Moldova. As we built relationships with the children in the orphanages, we grew to love them as our own family. We invested everything we had as an organization to ensure that their lives were safe and secure. But we were horrified to discover one thing. At the age of 16, children are essentially pushed out of the orphanages. It doesn’t matter that they have no where to go, no one to care for them. They are given enough money to buy a bus ticket to the city of their birth, and then bid farewell. You would think a life of freezing and starving would be enough suffering for one child to be subjected to, then they are kicked to the streets at the most vulnerable point of their life.

Here is where the REAL horror begins…

At bus stations, girls become prey to human traffickers. Orphanage directors often tip off traffickers as to which bus stations ‘their children’ can be located. Traffickers rely on the innocence and inexperience of girls who have lived sheltered within the four walls of an institution their entire lives. They offer them bogus jobs in cafes and shops in exotic countries abroad, promising good pay and nice accommodations. Girls, relieved to have found somewhere to go, and a way to make a living, obliviously step in to the back of traffickers’ cars.

Within HOURS…even MINUTES… they are beaten, threatened, tortured, stripped of their passports, dignity, and their innocence. They are beaten until they are broken and comply. Within 24 hours, they are shipped abroad to countries such as Greece, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, and bought for the price of $3,500.

Did you read that? Their lives are valued at three thousand five hundred dollars.

From there, their existence consists of servicing clients up to 35 times a day. Everyday. Without pay.

This is their life until either they die of AIDS, murder or suicide, or until they recruit sisters or friends that can take their place, or until-if they are fortunate enough- they escape. This, friend, is reality. It is not a story, not a movie. It is an EVERY DAY occurrence. EACH YEAR 600,00-800,000 people are trafficked across the world!!!

Here is our goal… we want to STOP trafficking BEFORE IT BEGINS. There are many awesome organizations helping rescue and rehabilitate people that have been victims of trafficking. But, we want to protect young girls from ever having to experience the nightmare of being trafficked.

Now, Moldova is known as the “engine”... a source country… for the trafficking industry. We want to dry up the source… and stall the engine. So, we are now building homes where orphan girls come and live. We are keeping them from bus stations street corners. They are receiving an education and learning basic life skills. Our first home is up and running since the fall of 2006. Our second home was opened in November of 2008. Our current goal is to build enough houses so that NO MOLDOVAN, ORPHAN GIRL will fall victim to the trafficking industry because they had nowhere to go and no one to care for them!

This is where you become a part of this story. We wholeheartedly believe that this generation has the ability to stop trafficking and liberate lives. STALL is just the meeting point for us to team together and MAKE IT HAPPEN! EVERYBODY can spread the word, tell colleagues, classmates, family, pastors, whoever will listen!

Some can donate financially. We are currently raising funds to buy our next home for girls. The price tag on an UNFINISHED house in the capital of Moldova is 200,000 euros. With enough help, we can raise those funds and have the home finished for the next group of girls turned out of Moldova’s institutions, so they will have somewhere to go where they will be safe, be protected… be loved.

Others can plan group projects such as clothes drives and toiletry drives to collect items for us to send to the girls living in the homes (we refer to the houses as Stella’s Houses, named after a personal friend from one of the Moldovan orphanages who died from AIDS at the age of 19, due to trafficking).

We need street teams telling the story to youth groups, community meetings, school clubs, bands who can play benefit concerts to raise funds for STALL. There are so many ways that we can go about stalling. No one should be left out!!!!!!!!
